My life used to be quite ordinary—working as an accountant, raising children. Sometime after I turned 45, I would always feel exhausted in the spring, without energy, and after a few years, a more intense tremor in my hands appeared. Doctors attributed it to fatigue and suggested increasing my magnesium intake. It wasn’t until 2013, after examinations, that it was determined to be parkinsonism.

I have been undergoing treatment for Parkinson’s disease for 13 years now, and I admit that it is not easy to live with this diagnosis.

I feel the effects in my slowed, heavy walking, reduced facial expression, small handwriting, stiff muscles, and in addition to that, I also suffer from chronic lower back pain.

Although I try to walk a lot and exercise, I can feel that as the years go by, my body is slowing down. To at least forget about the illness for a while, I devote myself to amateur painting and various handicrafts.
